Giving Back

At CIOC, financial freedom is not about having a lot of money…it’s about having the freedom to do the things you TRULY want to do by choosing your bigger goals over instant gratification. But more importantly, it’s about the ability to give freely to the causes that are near and dear to your heart. As you start out on your financial journey, you may not be able to give as much as you’d like, but I’ll encourage you to begin giving SOMETHING. There’s a tremendous thing that happens deep in your soul when you consciously give to others and it’s pretty incredible how it actually SPEEDS UP your progress!

During our journey (which continues today) we’ve enjoyed giving both of our money and our time. We regularly attend St. Henry Catholic Church, located in Buckeye, AZ, so we choose to give a large portion of our “give” amount to the church in addition to working with the youth and teen programs.

Throughout the years, different charities have received our donations for various reasons. We had an unexpected 8-day stay at Phoenix Children’s Hospital for my (then) 3-year old daughter who was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. The staff was so great that we chose to support them for an entire year shortly after. The works of “The Prayer Child Foundation,” “St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital,” “Maggie’s Place,” and “American Cancer Society” are something we appreciate so we give to help them continue their missions.

As a huge fan of Dave Ramsey and his approach to behavior change, I have also been a volunteer coordinator of Financial Peace University several times. This has allowed me to walk side by side with numerous individuals & couples during their journey to financial freedom.

I share all of these examples not as a resume of the works we have performed, but rather as a guide on how to determine where you might like to give YOUR time and money. I encourage all of my clients to share with me their favorite charities. I’m always looking for new places to support.
